Meeting the challenges of 2021 and looking forward with optimism
Throughout 2021, the global pandemic continued to influence the way we did business and the way we communicate with local and international clients, and it gave us a new set of challenges that we had to embrace. It was a difficult year for many global businesses due to COVID legislation, and restrictions in Singapore were amongst the most stringent. However, Hydro Products Asia was able to maintain momentum by developing its range of subsea and topside products and services.
We learned to work smarter and leaner during the year, with many travel restrictions in place, we kept in touch with our global clients via video conferencing, enabling us to maintain and grow our client business and develop new market opportunities. Hydro Products Asia has never been more proactive online, our team developed a better understanding of the digital world and associated technology. Our clients were kept informed about business developments, product innovation, contracts and awards through our website, social media and via our monthly e-news updates.
Hydro Products Asia takes the COVID threat very seriously and in response to government guidelines, we implemented many changes to stay compliant whilst operational. Remote working was introduced across the board when required during lockdown over the last two years, ensuring the safety and welfare of the team.
Throughout 2021, Hydro Products Asia continued to work closely with the naval defence, oil & gas and marine renewable energy sectors. We were active in several growing projects and supported many of our clients in several regions across Asia.
We were appointed by BluePrint Subsea to develop the sale of their products in the Asia and Australian territory. In collaboration with Rovtech Solutions UK, we now cover a highly diverse market across Asia, including Defence, Oil & Gas, Ocean Sciences, Nuclear, and Renewables. We announced a new working partnership with Oktopus GmbH, a subsea engineering company based in Keil, Germany, a bespoke manufacturer of integrated Maritime Systems, offering sea bed sampling equipment for Marine scientific research. We also announced our working partnership with Neptune Sonar based in the UK, a leading company in underwater transducer technology, offering one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive range of Undersea Defence and Commercial transducers.
Q3 of 2021 saw Hydro Products Asia launch a more comprehensive suite of Wet-Mate HRM Connectors, accommodating a variety of pressure, depth, and voltage ratings, providing many safe and secure applications for military subsea, defence, oil and gas exploration and oceanographic research.
Although the tail end of 2021 has seen further restrictions due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, we look forward to 2022 with a positive mindset. We are looking forward to fewer restrictions on travel from Singapore, and freedom once again to engage face to face with our clients. Hydro Products Asia is no different from any other supply-chain company, we are looking forward to a return to normality and an increase in overall confidence in business. During these challenging times, we remain committed to providing our clients with our full range of subsea and topside products.
Hydro Products Asia would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients and suppliers for continued support throughout 2021. We wish you best wishes for the festive period and continued opportunity and growth in 2022.
